Well, I am way behind on posting our happenings because we've been enjoying this beautiful weather....absolutely PERFECT. For the past few days, being outside has been wonderful! Last week we went to Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch. There the boys enjoyed running in the pumpkins, throwing hay, and playing with miscellaneous decorations and bounce houses (like they've never seen one before:). Jackson and Preston both chose a pumpkin out of the patch. We carved one and decorated the other for our neighborhood pumpkin contest.
A few days later, we went to the Pumpkin Express in Argyle, Texas where there is an awesome miniature train that the boys could ride around the whole pumpkin patch. This year was the first time they noticed scary "ghosts, goblins, and monsters". We talked about how they are only for pretend and there is nothing to be afraid of when "God is on our side". (Jackson likes to say that since he learned the bible story of David and Goliath, which is his favorite). Preston absolutely loved the freedom of the wide open field where he could run free amongst the pumpkins without us holding him back.
We also spent several days in our backyard just enjoying the fall weather. We played in our bounce house, blew lots of bubbles, Jason helped carve the Jack-O-Lantern, and I attempted some amateur face painting (which was pretty funny to say the least). It's nice that the boys just enjoyed having their faces painted, regardless of what the end result looked like!
We socialized with many of our neighbors at the neighborhood Halloween party this weekend where the boys dressed up for the costume contest and had fun playing with their little friends. It's so nice to get to know some of our neighbors and discover that there are many young families among us that have the same age children.
Jackson began year round swim lessons this past week, where he is doing stroke training. Preston begins his first swim class and year round lessons this week. They both love the water so this should be a fun activity. We look forward to recreational swimming next summer, but as for now we are taking in the pretty fall colors, changing leaves, and wonderful temperatures, where it's not too hot, not too cold, but JUST RIGHT!
